This historic hall was completed in 1859 and is believed to be haunted by a young ghostly girl who was said to have burned to death in the basement kitchen in the 1860s. Local stories say that during a ghost tour in 2003, the fireplace kettle swung out into the room on its own (note: it is too heavy to be easily moved and hangs from a moveable arm.) Footsteps and have also been heard, along with doors that open and close on their own during the night. Other reports here include the mysterious scent of flowers in the parlor which quickly turns to decayed meat. Ghost investigators have explored the location and have collected several examples of EVPs.

  • Child’s room red ball moving around

    My husband, his brother and I went in December to the octagon house. Not only did I capture an orb in the room with the piano, but upstairs in the children’s room there was a red ball in the middle of the room I was waiting on my husband to come out of the room as he was coming out the red ball came around him and stopped in front of him we both looked at each other and he said “you did see that right” so I took the ball and placed it back in the middle oof the room and said if you would like to follow us you can we are going into the basement. We are definitely going back there in a couple of months(when it’s a little warmer)

  • Octagon Hall ghosts

    A lot of activity inside and out, to too bottom. Been here 6 times and never fails to deliver. Most spirits are nice a curious. Many photo and video on YouTube as well.
