Red Dog Road - Harlan KY Haunted Place

  • Red Dog Road
  • Harlan, KY
This road is said to be haunted by strange lights that flicker from tree to tree. It has also been said that if you're quiet enough at a certain fork in the road, you may be able to hear someone waking in the woods above the road. There has been a huge shadowed specter spotted several times in the middle of the road and legend says it may be a jealous coal miner who shot and killed another miner in the 1930s. Stories say he killed the wrong man and now the man roams the road searching for his killer.

  • Red dog road.

Me and my mom went up there. we took my 2009 Subaru outback AWD station wagon. it went through okay but I wouldn’t recommend taking a car up there! but we were going back and something literally picked the passenger side of the car up and dropped it. it tore off my front bumper and the under carriage of my car and the metal side fenders. and it was smoking very badly. we both got out and it was clearly nothing was there to do that but there was a huge single feather laying perfectly centred on the ground in the back of the car it wasn’t even dirty or anything and we definitely didn’t hit a large object or bird. And it turned out it drained my mothers phone and mine completely they wouldn’t turn back on but when we got home and charged them my mother’s phone was completely reset to factory settings mine was fine thank goodness but I guess that’s what Samsung does when a paranormal encounter happens. But All there was behind the car a small puddle on the side it wasn’t deep and some flat seats or some type of fabric from an old boat was there but nothing else. If anyone has experienced anything similar to this up there I’d like to know.

  • Crazy road.

So I highly recommend not driving your car up there. I got stuck.road is awful had to back off hill half way up. I did however walk up the hill a bit with a voice box and heard "lady" then my flashlight kept turning off. Following all that my phone stopped working. I plan on going again but I am definitely not taking my car!

  • Red Dog Ghost

There were 5 of us, two of us went past a line into the dark that was said to be where the paranormal happens, then me and one other person set one foot across and the other person that we laft behind us started having heart problems so we headed back towards the car, on the way back, me and the other person that crossed the line saw the same ridge 3 times while the person we were taking back only saw it once and the walk back for us felt like 20-25 minutes while to him it felt like 10
